A Conversation with Ulfar Erlingsson, Chief Architect at Lacework
In conversation with Milstein Program director Austin Bunn and Klarman Post-Doctoral Fellow BaoBao Zhang, Ulfar Erlingsson, a leading technologist in Silicon Valley, will explore his professional biography, working on computer security for start-ups deCODE and GreenBorder Techologies (which sold to Google) and later at Microsoft Research, Google, and Apple to his latest role as Chief Architect at Lacework. Erlingsson focuses on utilizing artificial intelligence to design secure, dependable software and privacy protections. With a long-time interest in programming languages and systems, he holds a PhD in computer science and a PhD minor in English literature with a focus on Modernism, both from Cornell University.
The Milstein In Focus Speaker Series features industry leaders talking about the pivots and turns they have faced in their careers, the time between college and their first big breakthroughs, and the pathway that led to where they are now.
Launched in 2017, the Milstein Program in Technology & Humanity offers a unique multidisciplinary curriculum to a cohort of 100 students in the College of Arts & Sciences. Milstien Program students spend two summers at Cornell Tech in New York City.
