In Conversation: Chicana Artist Sandy Rodriguez

The Latino Living Center presents a conversation on Sandy Rodriguez's Codez Rodriguez Mondragón (2017-) that chronicles recent events of the children who have died in ICE detention as well as protests against CBP, detention, and ICE. The conversation will range from the art process on amate paper and the use of natural pigments and organic colorants learned by studying Indigenous knowledge as well as the Florentine Codex.

Sandy Rodriguez is a Los Angeles-based artist, teacher, and researcher. She will be in conversation with Ella Maria Diaz, associate professor in the department of literatures in English and the Latina/o Studies Program, LLC faculty fellow.
