Working Class Heroes
A folk music concert with Mat Callahan & Yvonne Moore
Working-Class Heroes is a concert of American working-class, pre–World War II folk songs written by both folk canon heavyweights and lesser-known but equally gifted songwriters. These songs tell the stories of the women and men who gave their lives to emancipate the working class.
Mat Callahan is a musician and author originally from San Francisco. Yvonne Moore is a singer and bandleader originally from Schaffhausen. Their CD, Working-Class Heroes, includes songs by Ralph Chaplin, Woody Guthrie, Ella May Wiggins, Joe Hill, Paul Robeson, and John Handcox. This event is free and open to the public.
