DESCRIPTION:Chantal Thomas is Professor of Law at Cornell Law School\, wher
 e she also directs the Clarke Initiative for Law and Development in the Mi
 ddle East and North Africa. She teaches in the areas of Law and Developmen
 t and International Economic Law. Prior to joining Cornell\, she chaired t
 he Law Department of the American University in Cairo and also served on t
 he University of Minnesota and Fordham University law faculties. She has b
 een a Visiting Professor teaching international economic law at institutio
 ns such as Harvard Law School\, Stanford Law School\, the Center for Trans
 national Legal Studies in London\, and Soochow University in China. She ha
 s consulted for the USAID Bureau for Democracy\, Conflict\, and Humanitari
 an Affairs\, and she has served on the the U.S. State Department’s Advis
 ory Committee on International Law\, and as Vice President of the American
  Society of International Law. She has published in journals including Law
  & History Review\, Cornell Law Review\, and the American Journal of Compa
 rative Law\, and she has a chapter in Shaping the Definition of Traffickin
 g in the Palermo Protocol\, ed. Prabha Kotiswaran (Cambridge University Pr
 ess\, 2017).
