Lebanese novelist Hoda Barakat

Hoda Barakat is an acclaimed Lebanese author. Her novels, plays and texts were translated from Arabic into more than 15 languages. She has been shortlisted for this year's International Prize for Arabic Fiction.  Barakat’s writing has been praised for its bold exploration of ethical, social, and psychological collapse, exposed in times of war. She is currently a Visiting Professor at Dartmouth College .
