About this Event
Cornell University Mann Library, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853, USA
Come join us in celebrating Arbor Day at Cornell! Focused around the Ag Quad, this tour will emphasize significant trees as they relate to Cornell history. Each tree will take us back in time, reflecting on the past of our institution. There will also be a hands-on demonstration of a non-invasive method to approximate the ages of trees. Get outside and enjoy the Spring weather before the end of the semester, while reflecting on the role that historical trees play in our landscape. Following the tour, you are welcome to join us at the A.D. White House for the planting of an oak tree, in recognition of Arbor Day.
This tour is free and open to the Cornell community; no registration required.
Tour leader: Jenna Zier ’23, MPS, Public Garden Leadership.
Location: Please meet in front of Mann Library and dress appropriately for the weather. The tour will be fully outdoors and will take place rain or shine.
