Physics alum Kristen (Galvin) Leonard '21 is currently a PhD student at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA). She will present an overview of graduate studies in Europe including how and when to apply for European master's or PhD programs. You'll hear about her personal experiences as a Cornell alum and a researcher in Austria, followed by a Q&A session.

After graduating from Cornell in 2021, Kristen completed a M.Sc. in physics at the University of Vienna, Austria in 2023. She has worked in several experimental physics groups at Cornell, Harvard, Uni Wien, and is now at ISTA. As a PhD student at ISTA, she is currently working on quantum devices in the group of Georgios Katsaros. All are welcome to attend.
