FORAGING WORKSHOP - SPRING SEMESTER (please read all the info below!)

Mushroom i.d. is NOT covered in this class. Limit 10 registrants. Preference will be given to Madison County residents for registration spots if needed!


Classes take place 10am-1pm every other Saturday starting in April



  • All classes begin at CCE Madison’s Ag Center: 100 Eaton Street, Morrisville

  • Always dress for the weather as we will be actively foraging in each class!


Class Syllabus:



  • April 26th: Safety, Class Goals, Introduction and History - Field ID (if time permits)

  • May 10th: Introduction to Plant I.D. - Field ID, Collection and Food preparation

  • May 24th: Plant I.D part 2 – Field ID, Collection and Food preparation

  • June 7th: Plant I.D. part 3 – Field ID, Collection and Food preparation

  • June 21st: Final Activities – In-class i.d., Potluck, Certificates & Closing


Payment on a sliding scale in $25 increments from $25 to $100 due by July 12th. After that we will only accept registrations if payment is made immediately via Paypal. Many items have to be purchased for this class so we have to have a head count early!! Registration ends April 19th unless the class is full before that. Attendees will receive tools, books and other items to assist with their foraging pursuits courtesy of the CNY Rural Poverty Grant.
