Fire Right, with Confidence and Grace by Roxi Bahar Hewertson

Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 7:30pm

Virtual Event

Presented by the ILRAA Women's Council

When you are a HR professional, or hiring leader, firing right is just as important a part of your job as is hiring right. No one wakes up in the morning looking forward to terminating a staff member's employment. In fact, people hate it so much they often wait far too long. While firing the right way won't eliminate all the pain for either party, it will make the conversation much more palatable. There are 5 common reasons that people get fired and there are 5 Principles in conducting that conversation that can make that interaction far more graceful and compassionate than many have experienced. The 5 Principles will prepare the leader to do it right - gracefully while honoring the dignity of the terminated employee. The result - a better night's sleep, less chance of emotional backlash and surviving employee unrest, and far fewer lawsuits and arbitrations. Firing right can have a dramatic and positive ROI in financial and human terms.

Attendees will learn the 5 Principles of firing right to help them carry out a rigorous process and have the confidence they need to do it well.
