The Cornell Agriculture Marketing Research Program (CAMRP) announces a NEW series of pricing workshops across the state. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego will be hosting one of these events on May 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Stefano’s Pizzeria located at 3273 Main Street, Mexico. This series targets farmers selling directly to consumers and will introduce new tools designed to help them with marketing and pricing for the upcoming 2025 season. The workshop will cover two Cornell initiatives: MeatSuite.com and the Farmers Market Research Project. Both topics are applicable to livestock producers selling meat direct-to-consumers. The second topic also appeals to other farmers, including dairy, egg, fruit and vegetable producers, and those selling any farm products at a farmers’ market.

Beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The 1st hour will be, “Creating and Pricing Consumer-friendly Meat with MeatSuite.” This session will cover an introduction to MeatSuite. It will also discuss how to make bulk meat sales more approachable for first-time buyers including a demonstration of MeatSuite’s newest tool, Bundle Builder. Bundle Builder allows you to easily assemble “bulk bundles” and set prices.

7:00 p.m. - A light dinner is served.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The 2nd hour will be, “Farmers Market Sales Data: Using the Customer Experience and Pricing to Improve Market Sales Performance.” This session will cover the results of Cornell research on customer spending and prices at farmers markets. Attendees will learn practical ways to increase customer spending and daily sales. This session is appropriate for all farms selling, fruit & vegetables, meat, dairy, and eggs as well as other farm products.

This material is based upon work supported by USDA/NIFA under Award Number 2022-70419-38562.
