Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cattaraugus County will host fall programing on Saturday October 5th in Ellicottville.  Experts from the Cornell Maple Program, Cornell Small Farms program and CCE Southwest Dairy, Livestock and Field Crops teams will discuss trends in farming and Agroforestry including trends in maple production, are Mushrooms your next crop and best practices for diversifying your farm or agriculture business.   


Speakers:  Aaron Wighman; NY State Maple Specialist conducts research on all aspects of maple production.  Program will discuss trends in Maple farms and products as well as changes in the industry.  


Connor Yougerman; Agroforestry and Mushroom Specialist with Cornell Small Farms program will talk about adding mushrooms to your woodlot farming portfolio. 


Katelyn Walley; will discuss business planning for changes on your small farm and preparing to update your business based on market and industry trends.  


Program will start at 9am; light refreshments will be available.
