Cornell University

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Madison County Master Gardener Volunteer! Please read all the instructions in your confirmation email after submitting this registration. This training will take place almost entirely IN PERSON at the Waterville Public Library (see full roster below, some classes take place elsewhere). We are teaming up with CCE Oneida to offer you this training! If you are from another county, you MUST contact ther MGV coordinator for your county and do your hours in your county. Scholarships mentioned in this registration platform are only for Madison County residents.

Master Gardener Volunteers are a boon to their community! Join us for the Seed To Supper program, help out with the installation of the Teaching Garden which will help teach others how to grow their own food and help Madison County community members with their many small farm and gardening questions. Teach classes, develop fact-sheets on hot gardening topics, write articles for the newspaper and more!

This training will equip you to be citizen scientists in your community and teach you a wealth of knowledge, supplementing your existing knowledge, that you can turn around and use to help others in your community.  Once your training is complete in the spring of 2025, applicants must commit to monthly meetings at CCE Madison in Morrisville where we solidify our team, develop a game-plan for current projects, and brainstorm ways to help others.

Once your background check is completed, we will contact you to schedule an in-person interview about the program. Payment on a sliding scale of anywhere from $100 to $150 is due directly after the interview. We accept cash, check or Paypal.

If you have any questions about the training or the application process, please contact Patty Stimmel: MGV Coordinator at 315-684-3001 ext. 108
