Manufacturing Systems Engineering – Modeling the Complete Product Definition

In this class you will learn:

  • The changing nature of product development.
  • An exploration of the significant impact macroeconomic factors have on innovation in the manufacturing sector.
  • The link between these strategic drivers and changes in the practice of product development and the technologies used across its lifecycle.
  • The resultant increase in product complexity is leading to a demand for multidisciplinary systems level engineering.
  • How various forms of abstraction can be used to focus on key requirements, connecting disciplines, and how this will lay the foundation for automation with generative AI technologies in the future.
  • How the practice of product development is moving away from expertise in developing models back to the underlying engineering principles that govern great product design and ultimately competitive differentiation.
  • Why this is the most exciting time in human history to be part of the manufacturing industry. The session is intended to provide some insight on how best to prepare for the future it promises.
