Exploring the Trees of the Arboretum

Is your knowledge of trees limited to maples, oaks, and pines? Join our tree tour to learn about the wide diversity of tree species in the F.R. Newman Arboretum and why this diversity is so important to humans. Learn how these trees connect to our local flora and the global world of trees, and gain insights into the importance of certain trees to various cultures, as well as how trees are being threatened by pests, pathogens, and changing climate. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Walk will be held rain or shine and will include some slopes and stairs.

Location: Meet at the parking area next to Houston Pond and the Sculpture Garden, in the central part of the Arboretum.
