This presentation is part of the overall conference programming for Hotel Ezra Cornell 99 (HEC). Hotel Ezra Cornell is a three-day student-run conference and a 99-year tradition of the Hotel School, making it one of the oldest organizations at Cornell University. Students organize speakers, networking events, food and beverages, and workshops with the goal of connecting hospitality professionals, students, and alumni at the leading hospitality program in the United States. Students learn about all aspects of hospitality, event planning, operations and more through hands-on experience. HEC programming in the Statler Auditorium is open to the public and all are welcome!

In this keynote fireside chat, Elizabeth Blau '95 and Jason Lapin '90, will come together to explore the current and future trajectories of the restaurant industry. Blau, founder and CEO of Blau & Associates, a distinguished global hospitality consultancy, is celebrated for opening a series of acclaimed restaurants, establishing The Women’s Hospitality Initiative, and providing consultancy services for Wynn Resorts developing restaurants across global properties.

Lapin, in his role as President and COO of Blau & Associates, joins Blau in managing high-profile client projects, developing innovative restaurant concepts, and implementing marketing and operation strategy. Blau and Lapin will share valuable insights on the dynamic landscape of the restaurant industry, exemplified by successful ventures such as the recently opened Crown Block Dallas in Reunion Tower.
