Join Natural Areas Stewardship Coordinator Jules Ginenthal on an exciting botanical hike, co-sponsored by the Cayuga Trails Club. On this evening hike, we will venture off-trail and deep into the heart of some beautiful old growth forest managed by Cornell Botanic Gardens on Hammond Hill. We will start at the main parking area for the Hammond Hill trailhead, walk up Hammond Hill Rd. and continue onto DEC Blue trail 1 to the Cornell property. From here we will bushwhack (though much of the old growth forest understory is quite free of brush) on a loop through the preserve to see many large ash, other trees, and wildflowers.
