Career Paths in Energy: How do You Find Yourself and How Can You Thrive at the Intersection of Renewables, Innovation, and Data Centers

What does it take to identify and deliver real world energy cost saving initiatives and sustainability projects? This presentation will talk through what it takes to originate, structure and execute these different programs within the corporate space, ranging from new energy tariffs, technologies, and operating models. Following this review, we will talk through different sustainable energy career paths, and ways one can transition from college/graduate level work to the commercial space.

BIO: Mr. Fradette manages the North and South American energy strategy for a large cloud services company. He is responsible for delivering new, and managing existing, power      capacity to serve data center needs. The focus of this work includes delivery of substations and utility power infrastructure, enabling structural energy cost reductions through new  technology, policy and operating models, minimizing power disruptions from the utility grid, and improving sustainability. Prior to this, he led project development for both behind the meter (<20MW) solar, and energy storage projects for fortune 500 C&I clients at a leading solar company, and large utility scale (>20MW) renewables while at a global utility.  While at a start up company, he was responsible for the commercial implementation of LNG fuel solutions throughout the Oil and Gas and Industrial sector, helping companies transition from diesel to natural gas. Mr. Fradette received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business
