Cornell University

The speaker series is an initiative of the Emerging Markets Theme of the Cornell S.C. Johnson College of Business, which focuses on engaging students and faculty in discourse over the role of emerging markets in an increasingly connected world.

Every month, we will host a speaker to expand our understanding of emerging economies through research and diverse perspectives. Join us in welcoming Ricardo Hausmann as our first speaker on Feb 5 at 12pm ET.

Ricardo Hausmann is Rafik Hariri Professor of the Practice of International Political Economy at Harvard Kennedy School, and Director of the Growth Lab at Harvard’s Center for International Development. He served as the first Chief Economist of the Inter-American Development Bank from 1994-2000, and Minister of Planning of Venezuela from 1992-1993. His research focuses on growth, macroeconomic stability, international finance, and the social dimensions of development.
