An Alternative Career in Electrical Engineering: Patent Law

Abstract
Dr. Radulescu will discuss his decision to attend law school after receiving his Ph.D. and will summarize his fulfilling career in the field of patent litigation over the past 30 years. His firm has a reputation for focusing on high-stakes, complex patent litigation where a deep understanding of the interplay between technology and legal issues is critical to a company's litigation success. He has appeared in Courts throughout the US on behalf of clients based throughout the world and has litigated more patent cases than any other lawyer in the US in the field of semiconductor light emitting devices (LEDs). His lecture will be focused on introducing Cornell ECE and any other students to the field of patent law.

Bio
David Radulescu is a Founder and Partner of Radulescu LLP, an elite patent litigation firm with offices in New York City and Texas. Thirty-five years ago while working on his Ph.D. here at Cornell he attended a lecture in this very same lounge. The lecture was entitled Alternative Careers in Electrical Engineering and was presented by three former Cornell EE students who discussed their respective careers in patent law, business, and the stock markets. After attending the lecture, he decided to apply to law school and become a patent attorney.
