Four short films by acclaimed French filmmaker Alain Resnais, recently restored, including his insightful, poetic documentary about the National Library of France, All the World's Memory (1956). Other shorts include: Guernica (1949), about Picasso's masterpiece and its context; Paul Gauguin (1949), which uses the artist's own writing to trace his creative journey; and Van Gogh (1948), Resnais' Oscar-winning short, which uses only Van Gogh's paintings as visuals for an overview of his life and work.
