FAMILY CAMP WEEKENDS 2021

Welcoming returning and new families for a fun experience of Family Camping. Located at DPF 4-H Camp, 3186 Sound Ave in Riverhead, Long Island.

Join us as we explore the nature on our Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Summer Camp. We are offering guided hikes exploring nature all around us, Arts & Crafts set up just for your family, first time experiences and much more.

Bring up to 6 members of your family per cabin.

Enjoy some of our staff lead events, self-enjoyed activities, or the wonderful local activities around Sound Ave (links at bottom of page).

Cost:  Only $150 for the weekend per family (if more than 6 people, please contact dpf4hcamp@cornell.edu)

Registration: Registration required in advance.  Check in starts at 5pm on Friday.

Your Stay includes: 2 nights and check-out is 10am on Sunday morning. No Food or meals will be provided.

Stay in a rustic cabin in the woods. Each cabin has lights and limited power outlets. Bathhouses are located outside of cabins in a shared unit space. Bedding is not provided.

In the focus of safety, activities and camping opportunities are designed to be “cohort” or single-family activities. No large groups are yet permitted.

Activities:

Guided Hike / Night Hike – Take a hike with us as we explore the natural trails on Long Island. Opportunity to spot deer, turkeys, hawks, owls and more.

Shoreline Exploration – Take a hike to our beach and explore the shoreline and something we call the “Shipwreck”.  Search for sea glass and learn about Beachwood.

Sports - Sport Equipment will be left out and available for your family to participate in Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Gaga, Kickball, Canjam, Cornhole and more.

Arts & Crafts- Family crafts are super fun. Try some classic camp crafts family style, like family friendship bracelets, Boondoggle, and Tie-Dye. (Note: Please bring a cotton white tee-shirt or article of clothing. Additionally, we will have Camp Tee’s available for purchase.) As well as a daily crafts.

S’mores- Have S’more fun on us. We will host a fire on the property with a treat bag for your family with all the things you’ll need for your S’more making action and sweet tooth.

Goats- Come visit the farm and our goats. Our yearlings would love for you to stop by. You also can attend Goat-Yoga with us in the mornings.

Additional Activities- Expect more activities to pop up and be available. We like to keep things growing and have more opportunities for fun.

All programs will be pre-signed into upon arrival and all families will select from available time blocks where our staff assure everyone has an awesome time!

 
Additional Cost programs:

Tie-Dye – If you bring your own shirt Tie-Dye will be free. Additionally, we will be selling DPF shirts at a cost of $6 per shirt.

Archery: Come learn NYS 4-H Shooting Sports and test your aim as a family on our Archery Range. With activities and games to play and learn with your family. (An additional $40 per family) (1.5 hours)

High Ropes- Come gain some confidence with us. Enjoy climbing our 3-sided rock wall as well as 4 other high ropes elements including a 45 Meter Zip-line. (An additional $100 per family) (2-Hours)
