Sub-Basement Docs Student Film Screening and QA

At this screening, PhD students and candidates will share final cuts of documentary shorts that they have filmed, workshopped, and edited this semester. Their films showcase a breadth of different styles and forms including archival media, staged interviews, street portraitures, and observational footage. The locations of these films span across different times and spaces, threading together China, Ghana, Israel, New York City, and Ithaca through questions of narrative, circulation, labor, and gender. Afterwards, a Q+A and reception will follow, bringing together audience and filmmakers to share ideas and generate new trajectories for these projects.
