 underwater\, have been called "mosquito hawks"\, do not sting\, and have s
 ome of the most amazing behaviors and color patterns? Broome County is hom
 e to over 100 species of dragonflies and damselflies. Our program will sta
 rt with a dragonfly overview\, including a look at their incredible life c
 ycle. We will explore some amazing adaptations and have an opportunity to 
 view live adult dragonflies and their aquatic young (nymphs). We will show
  you how to catch\, hold\, and release dragonflies unharmed as a lead in t
 o the second half of the program. Participants will have an opportunity to
  try their hand at catching adult dragonflies and damselflies\, viewing "u
 p close and personal" before releasing them. Note: Touching or holding the
 se insects is not a requirement for the program.\n\n\nOpen to all ages inc
 luding adults\, but the program is best for children at least 5 years old 
 and older. All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\n\
 nRegistration is free but required\, and please register all members of yo
 ur group separately.\n\n\nPresented in partnership with Broome County Park
