About this Event
Design Connect is a multidisciplinary, student-run, community design organization housed in the Department of City and Regional Planning. Each semester, four to five student-led teams take on participatory planning and design projects in Central New York based on need expressed by municipalities, community development organizations, or community interest groups. More than 100 students become involved with Design Connect each year — engaging practical challenges in their fields while providing nearby communities with the technical support they desire.
The exhibition will feature the four spring 2017 Design Connect projects:
Community Recreation Plan in Berkshire
Ernie Davis Park Redesign in Elmira
Sterling Nature Center Design in Sterling
Geneva Public Library Master Plan in Geneva
Please join us on Friday, May 19, at 4:30 p.m. in the West Sibley Exhibition Hallway to celebrate almost 10 years of Design Connect activities and the end of this semester's projects. Outgoing chair, Hadar Sachs (B.S. URS '17), will also share the outcomes of her honors thesis in the form of reflections on the organization and its activities.
Refreshments will be provided.
