In this 2.5 hour interactive workshop, participants will work in partners and small groups to share their current approach, including how their research translates back to the community in the design, implementation and evaluation of interventions promoting health equity.  Using the metaphor of the salsa round dance Rueda de Casino, participants will share their own research “moves” and explore new approaches to identify, recruit, motivate and cultivate community leaders, including those whose perspectives may currently be excluded or missing.

Drawing on music, call and response, storytelling, mind mapping, and  peer-to-peer exchange, participants will examine how they can:

  • better  measure impact
  • expand critical relationships
  • identify and amplify leverage points

to further a health equity agenda that reflects the lived experience of a broader spectrum of stakeholders.
