Guest scholar and historical keyboard specialist David Catalunya demonstrates his reconstructed medieval clavisimbalum, a sort of medieval pianoforte with a wide dynamic range. The selection of pieces covers the wide variety of musical genres represented in the Faenza Codex manuscript from the 14th-15th centuries: Italian madrigals, French virelais, dance music, and the most ornamented and virtuoso settings of sacred music.
