DESCRIPTION:The 4-H Western Day Horse Show will be held on Thursday\, July 
 24\, 2025.  This day is comprised of the Western and Ranch Divisions.\n\n\
 nThe show will begin at 8:30AM with Showmanship which is a mandatory class

 late entries will be accepted!!  This event is open to Oneida County 4-H m

 \nIf you are planning on keeping your horse on the Fairgrounds and require
  a stall\, please register online for the Stall Agreement and mail the Sta
 ll Fee to the 4-H Office prior to July 1st. If you require a stall after t
 he July 1st deadline contact Lisa Farney at lb553@cornell.edu  \n\n\nHorse
  Certificates must be on file with the 4-H Office to participate.  These w
 ere DUE JUNE 1st!!  All horses must have current Rabies and Coggins Certif
 icates copies on file with the 4-H Office prior to the show and these cert
 ificates must be on hand during transportation and stabling duration at th
 e fairgrounds.      \n\n\nRequired Safety Attire\n\n\n·  “Official” h
 elmet for the NYS 4-H Horse Program will be equine riding helmets with AST
 M – 1163/SEI or ASTM – F – 1163-04a/ SEI certification.\n\n\n· “P
 roper equestrian footwear with a distinguishable heel” is required.\n\n\
 nAn approved helmet and equestrian footwear must be worn at all times at 4
 -H events when: \n\n\n\na rider is mounted on an equine\nyouth are riding 
 in a vehicle being pulled by one or more equines\nyouth are in the show ri
 ng (I.e.: for Showmanship at Halter)\n\nNYS Horse Show Rules will be follo

 n\, it must be leased in the exhibitor's name and the ONLY equine used.\nA
 ll animals must have been officially listed as project animal with the Cor
 nell Cooperative Extension 4-H Program by June 1st of the current program 
 year.\nAll equines must be at least 24 months of age. All equine shown in 
 ridden and driven classes must be 3 years of age and older. No intact stal
 lion or jack over 12 months of age may be shown in a 4-H event\, show\, cl
 inic\, etc.\nPony measurement for English \,Western\, and Gymkhana are und
 er 14.2 hands. Exact size measurements should be made on all ponies to fac
 ilitate proper entry.\n\nAll necessary 4-H Horse Program requirements must
  be met prior to showing at the Oneida County Boonville Fair. \n\n\n\nHORS
 E CERTIFICATES are due by June 1st. \nAll 4-H Members must have completed 
 a judged Horse Communication or competed in the Regional Horse Bowl and Hi
 ppology Contest \n4-H members between 8-19 years old must have completed a
  minimum of 1 hour of community service to the 4-H Horse Program. \n\nRibb
 on awards to be given according to placing in each class.  No points are a
 warded for costume classes.\n\n\nPoor sportsmanship by the exhibitor or mi
 sbehavior by the horse will be cause for dismissal.\n\n\nAll 4-H members s
 howing at Boonville Fair MUST exhibit in the appropriate Showmanship Class
 .\n\n\nSome classes may have eliminations conducted outside of regular sho
 w ring.\n\n\nThe decision of the judge is always final.\n\n\nConduct unbec
 oming to a parent\, supervisor\, or exhibitor will be subject to immediate
  disciplinary action.\n\n\nNo coaching from ring side please.\n\n\nNo one 
 other than exhibitors may ride\, school\, or train an equine entered in th
 e show while on the 4-H show grounds. If a youth is having a problem with 
 an equine\, please talk with the Show Superintendent. With proper approval
 \, exceptions may be made. Safety of the youth will always be of primary c
 oncern.\n\n\nCloverbuds may only show in designated “Cloverbud” classe
 s and may not compete in Gymkhana events. \n\n\nClasses may be combined at
