Cornell Concert Series presents Stefon Harris

Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 7:00pm

Virtual Event

Stefon Harris plays mallet percussion with astonishing virtuosity that has propelled him to the forefront of the jazz scene. In addition to serving as Associate Dean and Director of Jazz Arts at Manhattan School of Music, Harris has earned four GRAMMY nominations and numerous accolades: chosen Best Mallet Player seven times by the Jazz Journalist Association and Best Vibes in the 2018 and 2017 DownBeat Magazine Critic’s Poll, among others. In addition to his trademark vibes, Harris performs with his longtime band and collaborators, Blackout. “His music needs no labels like ‘postmodern’ or ‘cutting edge.’ It is Stefon Harris music…” (Jazz Times).
