Cornell and the cosmos!
Building on Cornell's long interest in astronomy, the Cornell Club of Southern Arizona is sponsoring an outing to the Mt. Lemmon observatory. The visit will take place Saturday, April 27th starting at 3:00 p.m. Held at the U. of A.'s SkyCenter, SkyNight will include activities at the learning center, a light meal, sky orientation, binocular viewing, and several celestial observations by each person through a 32-inch telescope. The program lasts about 5 hours.
More information appears at skycenter.arizona.edu/programs/public/skynights. SkyNight is appropriate for kids age 7 and up interested in astronomy. The discount price for the program is $50 per person. (For fewer than 10 people, the cost would be $60/person.)
If you plan to go, you must read the FAQs for participants at the web page noted above. It describes driving time, arrival time, exactly where to go, what to wear--appropriate clothing (!), signing a release form, and other topics.
