Sunset Cruise on the Disappearance
Scholarship Fundraising Event!

Enjoy a three-hour cruise on the 70-foot yacht Disappearance .
We won’t be seeing Gilligan's Island, but we will cruise the South Bay, departing from King Harbor in Redondo, taking in the harbor lights, oceanfront properties and stunning sunset.
Randy Meistrell, son of the late Body Glove founder Bob Meistrell, will serve as our captain. Wine, champagne, soft drinks along with food by Lisa's Bon Appetit will be provided.
Cornell Club of Los Angeles President Kim Bixler and her husband Tim Bixler will be hosting the event.
After graduating from Cornell Kim (Brown) Bixler wrote her first book Get a Clue: Guide to Cornell & Ithaca, NY .
After publishing 365 Great Things about Atlanta , Kim served as editor and advisor for two children’s books and The Cigar Book .
Her latest book, Growing Up in a Frank Lloyd Wright House , documents her family’s experience living and giving tours in a Frank Lloyd Wright house from 1977-1994.
In addition to her multimedia presentations for architects, students and Wright fans, Kim has served as the volunteer programming chair of CCLA for the past four years.
Her small-group manufacturing, museum and behind-the-scenes tours have been CCLA favorites.
Kim met Tim in Rulloff's Restaurant in 1990, a few weeks before he started at Cornell Law School.
Serving as tour guide (do you sense a theme here?) Kim escorted Tim to the suspension bridge and informed him that legend required a kiss so the bridge wouldn’t plunge into the gorge (quite the storyteller)!
Tim graduated from Yale in 1989 with a degree in Chemistry and bleached hair after four years as a
