Cornell Wind Symphony, James Spinazzola, conductor. The Wind Symphony celebrates the music of Spain with a traditional pasodoble, selections from Spanish and Cuban zarzuelas, and Luis Serrano Alarcón's Duende, a virtuosic fusion of flamenco, jazz, and Spanish popular music. The program also includes the world premiere of Tyson Gholston Davis's inner flame...deep and blue...for soprano and wind ensemble, featuring Ariadne Greif; and Ravel's Pavane pour une infante défunte.
