 ce Principe\, “The idea that scientific and religious camps have histori
 cally been separate and antagonistic is rejected by all modern historians 
 of science.” In this talk\, Prof. Chris Baglow (University of Notre Dame
 ) will address the historical origins of the conflict/warfare model of sci
 ence and religion\, which found its fullest expression in the writings of 
 Cornell co-founder Andrew Dickson White. He will also guide us through a t
 our of Church history to set the record straight on the Catholic approach 
 to scientific inquiry and discovery\, relying on the insights of St. Thoma
 s Aquinas on his feast day and in commemoration of his 800th birthday.\n\n
