Abstract: As a new addition to the Graduate Field of Astronomy, I am excited to present my overview of Astronomy Education Research: the kinds of questions we aim to answer, the methods we use, and the things we already know. I'll focus on current project involving Cornell Astronomy courses about the impact of active learning pedagogies on student learning. I'll discuss how we measure learning, how we quantify pedagogy, and what we're finding so far.
