About us

A team of undergraduate students organize the CUBMRC in collaboration with the Cornell University Department of Mathematics and CIS.

The CUBRMC is an annual mathematics competition designed to challenge and inspire high school students from across the nation. Founded with the mission of promoting mathematical excellence and problem-solving skills, CUBRMC brings together some of the brightest young minds to compete in a prestigious academic environment.

Our competition features challenging problems across various mathematical disciplines, including algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics. Participants have the opportunity to showcase their mathematical prowess while experiencing the vibrant academic atmosphere of Cornell University.

Mission

The Cornell Big Red Math Competition is dedicated to celebrating the beauty and power of mathematics while fostering a spirit of academic excellence and curiosity among high school students. Our aim is to create an inclusive and challenging mathematical environment where participants can explore and expand their passion for math, develop valuable problem-solving skills, and build lasting connections within a vibrant mathematical community.  We want to foster a love of mathematics, encourage critical thinking, and provide a platform for talented students to demonstrate their mathematical abilities on a national stage.  We hope to inspire the next generation of mathematicians and equip them with the tools necessary in shaping a better future, both in mathematics and the world at large.  

History

Founded by the Undergraduate Math Club and the Department of Mathematics in fall 2023.
