Who should get to decide what you and others post on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram?  In an age of fake news and hate speech, trolls and spam, are concerns with security and authenticity inevitably at odds with free speech?  This talk explores the practice and politics of content moderation, and shows how decisions taken by social media platforms increasingly shape the nature of individual and public expression in our online (and offline) worlds.
