DIY Condiment Workshop 2026

WHEN: Thursday, July 16, 2026

TIME:  6pm-7:30pm

LOCATION: Ovid Fire Hall - 2136 Brown Street, Ovid, NY 14521

COST: $10 per person, which includes samples to taste and recipes to take home

Led by CCE Seneca Master Food Preservers, participants will learn how to stop buying and start making at-home family favorites such as mustard, mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, ketchup, pizza sauce, pesto, dip mixes, and salad dressing (ranch, herb, and Italian). Pam Lane, a Master Food Preserver, says, “my daughter and granddaughter both love Mema’s ketchup, they could eat it with a spoon!”

Let us show you how to embrace a more self-reliant lifestyle, one small step at a time, starting with learning how to make these everyday pantry staples at home in just 30 minutes. Learn how to confidently create healthier versions using wholesome ingredients and cutting out unnecessary preservatives and added amounts of sugar and salt. By buying fresh, locally sourced ingredients, you are also supporting local farms and businesses. Making your own condiments is economical and environmentally friendly too. You will be saving money making family sized products while minimizing plastic containers and excess packaging.

If you are in need of special accommodations, please contact the office at 315-539-9251 or email seneca@cornell.edu
