Community Presentation Moving the City of Ithaca’s Existing Buildings to Carbon Neutrality
Saturday, November 16, 2019 10am to 11:30am
About this Event
Come listen and engage with the Ithaca Carbon Neutrality Policy and Energy Modeling team of Cornell University as they present their progress towards guiding Ithaca toward carbon neutrality by 2030. The team is made up of 23 masters and undergraduate students across the colleges. The research and efforts began this semester and have been focused on developing benchmarks, researching policy and collecting data to develop an energy model of the city. By May 2020, the team’s research and data analysis will come together into a formal proposal suggesting how existing buildings can be retrofitted to reach the 2030 goal and the policy support that will need to accompany these recommendations.
The team is looking for community input and partners to support a well-informed and collaborative final proposal. The presentation will be followed by an open discussion time for the team members to receive input about their work. We look forward to seeing you there!
