A Panel Discussion Moderated by Dr. Neil Lewis, Jr.
2pm in 102 Mann
Reception to follow in the Hub
The tools that scientists have traditionally used to engage with broader publics have been changing rapidly. What do these changes mean for scientists who wish to engage in science communication and public engagement efforts? How do they affect public understanding of science? What are the implications for the role of the university in public discourse? Drs. Katherine McComas—Vice Provost for Engagement and Land-Grant Affairs, Bruce Lewenstein—Professor of Science Communication, and Katherine Sender—Professor of Communication and documentary filmmaker will discuss these issues and more in a moderated discussion about the future of science communication and public engagement.
