Jennifer Abruzzo, recently confirmed General Counsel of the NLRB, following decades of work for the NLRB in numerous roles, including as Acting General Counsel. As the Board’s top official managing its investigative and prosecutorial functions, Ms. Abruzzo has tremendous prosecutorial discretion in what legal issues she will emphasize in issuing complaints and litigating cases before the Board and the courts. For the first time in history, the NLRB has women in the two top leadership roles -- Chair and General Counsel.
In this forum, Ms. Abruzzo will present her view on current challenges and opportunities, initiatives she is considering, and future potential effects on workers, employers, unions, and the general public on the workplace protection and enforcement realm.
Providing commentary are James W. Bucking, Partner, Foley Hoag, LLP, who represents employers in union disputes, employment litigation, and other labor and employment matters, and Susan Davis, Partner, Cohen, Weiss and Simon, LLP, who represents national, regional, and local labor unions in all aspects of labor relations, as well as internal union governance and strategic planning.
