Eric E. Poehler (Professor of Classics, University of Massachusetts Amherst) will give a virtual talk entitled, "Vernacular architecture at the Porta Stabia: from quarrying to recycling" on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 4:30 PM. Dr. Poehler is the Principal Investigator for the Pompeii Bibliography and Mapping Project, and Co-director of the Pompeii Quadriporticus Project. He holds his degrees from the University of Virginia (Ph.D.) and Bemidji State University, and his fields of study are Greek and Roman archaeology, Roman urbanism and architectural history, infrastructure, archaeological theory and method, and the use of technology in archaeological research.
