About this Event
View mapI will present my work on development and implementation of novel method of time-resolved X-ray reflectivity, designed to work with the monochromatic synchrotron radiation available at the CHESS G-Line (Sector 7). We use a polycapillary x-ray optic to create a converging beam that illuminates the sample at a range of incident angles, and an area detector collect a range of exit angles. We first demonstrate this method for characterizing the Perovskite to Brownmillerite phase transition in an epitaxial complex oxide film in situ in a pulsed laser deposition system. We then demonstrate a geometrical improvement to the method and illustrate its application to characterize the kinetics of rapidly intermixing metal-metal multilayers.
