 ow to create positive social impact in the financial industry. \n\n \n\nSpe
 aker Biography:\n\nHeather Davis is a senior managing director and head of 
 Nuveen Private Markets.  Ms. Davis is responsible for strategy\, investment
  originations\, portfolio management and board reporting for the organizati
 on’s investments in real assets and alternatives sectors including real est
 ate\, agriculture\, timber\, infrastructure and energy\, private equity and
  private debt.\n\nMs. Davis has held a number of leadership roles\, notably
  overseeing the growth of the $40 billion global private markets portfolio 
 which includes private placements\, private equity\, distressed investments
 \, commercial mortgages\, natural resources and infrastructure investments.
   Ms. Davis joined the organization in 1995 and has 33 years of investment 
 industry experience.\n\nPrior to joining TIAA\, Ms. Davis worked for Pruden
 tial Financial in a variety of roles including commercial mortgage originat
 ion\, mortgage underwriting\, portfolio management\, and credit underwritin
 g.  In 2009\, Ms. Davis created TIAA’s Fruits of Employment initiative\, wh
 ich employs people with autism and other disabilities on TIAA farms. The pr
 ogram has won numerous awards for its groundbreaking work in autism employm
 ent in the farming sector. In 2014\, Ms. Davis received the Athena Internat
 ional award for Corporate Leadership. Ms. Davis serves on the boards of Wes
 tchester Global Investment Management\, Churchill Asset Management\, the Jo
 hn M. Belk Endowment and the Carolinas Chapter of Autism Speaks.\n\nMs. Dav
 is holds a B.A. in economics from Cornell University and an M.B.A. in finan
 ce from Cornell University\, Johnson School of Management. She serves on th
 e Dean’s Advisory Council of the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sc
 iences.
