This event is a presentation and discussion by the students of HORT6940: Sustainability Science about trends in grappling with sustainability challenges in university curricula, research, operations, and public engagement. There are three parts to this event:
1) A presentation summarizing interviews a group of students conducted with Cornell faculty, administration and students about Cornell's vision and current and future effots in this arena;
2) A multimedia presentation of sustainability related programs at other universities; and
3) Poster presentations from a third group will highlight the diversity in understanding, teaching and communicating sustainability in higher education.

Achieving sustainability -- no matter how you define it -- is going to require moving beyond 'business as usual.' This event aims to elucidate some of the ways in which Cornell and other universities are working to shift the paradigm -- and to discuss how successful they've been so far.

RSVPs to Jenny Nelson (jmn99@cornell.edu) are recommended but not required. We look forward to seeing you there!
