CCE Broome is proud to partner with the NYS Center of Excellence for Food & Agriculture @ Cornell Agri-Tech for a day of tours and speakers focused on understanding the latest food trends and resources available to support our value-added producers. The cost is $20 for the day which will include morning coffee, pastries and lunch. Below is our agenda for the day!

Friday November 11th

9:30am: Coffee hour, networking (Pilot Plant Lobby or Conference Room)

10am:  Welcome & Intros

10:15am: Pilot Plant --> Tour this part of Food Venture Center which features a smaller scale replica of food manufacturing facility with various types of productions lines set up. Learn how value added processors can utilize these resources in order to understand how to scale up from co-packer or commercial kitchen.

11am: HPP Validation Center (High Pressure Packaging) & UV --> Learn about the options for processing for those types of products which need a way to be food safe without preservatives. Examples include hummus, guacamole, beverages, etc…

11:15am: Craft Beverage Institute tour & overview.

11:30am: Center of Excellence tour & Overview à We’ll learn what the COE is and how all the different pieces fit together with the Cornell Food Venture Center.
Tour guides include: Bruno Xavier (Food Venture Center) & Cathy Young (Center of Excellence)

12:30pm: Lunch (co-working space or Jordan Hall)

1:30pm: Tech Farm --> We’ll tour the Tech Farm, the incubator space at Agri-Tech and learn the role they are filling, how food businesses can engage with them, etc…

2:00pm: PM business tours TBD (possible stops include RealEats, GrowNY 2019 winner, and Red Jacket Orchards

4:30pm: Home OR Happy Hour in Geneva!
