Cornell University

Andy Potash, A&S '66, has spent his working career in the insurance industry. In 1995 he founded The Distinguished Programs Group, an insurance underwriting and distribution company that specializes in real estate and hospitality risks. In 2003 that business in turn spawned a new business, Resource Pro, a remote staffing and process improvement company serving the insurance industry. Today the combined companies do $100MM in revenue with a 25% profit margin.

He and his wife, Andrea, have started a foundation to help find ways to create permanent jobs for people who need a second chance in life (the formerly incarcerated, recovering addicts, and homeless people) and have come up with a novel way of providing low cost capital for growth in exchange for a commitment to hire the kind of folks they're trying to get employed (see www.washcyclelaundry.com as an example).

Have an informal conversation with an A&S alum. This is an opportunity to learn about their career story and ask questions about themselves and their career field. This is a really valuable networking opportunity and a great way to learn about a career field or ask for advice on working in it.

The location information will be emailed to registered students a few days before the event.

A&S undergraduates will be given first priority at this event.

Please note our no-show policy as well as our tips for preparing for this meeting at http://as.cornell.edu/academics/careers/explore/career-conversations.cfm.
