Canning 101 will be held at the Early Childhood Development building, 25 Library Rd, Hogansburg, NY 13655. Classes will include hands-on canning, recipes, and printed materials. All techniques will be stressing scientific and safe procedures for food handling and processing. Instructors, Pat Banker and Ceely King,are certified Master Food Preserver instructors. Classes will start at 4:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm. All supplies will be provided. Bring your pressure canner and we will test your gauges.
April 25- Canning jams, jellies and preserves. Strawberry jam, orange jelly and orange marmalade will be made and processed. Demonstration of making wild flower essence jellies.
April 26-Canning salsa and pickles in boiling water bath canner.
April 27-Pressure Canning vegetables, meat and soup. Make friends with your pressure canner.
