Join us this Fall for the Latino Living Center Café con Leche Series. This series allows students, student organizations, programs and departments to present a topic and engage in conversation and dialogues with members of the Cornell community. Topics range from issues affecting Latinos and other racial, ethnic and cultural communities in topics ranging from policy, media, education, identity, health and more.

September 9: Noche the Loteria

Bring friends to an exciting night of Lotería.  Originating in Mexico, Lotería mirrors Bingo BUT uses images on a deck of cards instead of plain numbers.  Join us for a fun night of learning the meaning of popular Spanish phrases, words and images! Register via Campus Groups:

September 16: Don't be self Conchas

Join Las Hermanas of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. at the next LLC Café Con Leche. We will touch upon societal beauty standards, insecurities and their negative effects on the Latinx community as well as in the Latinx Community. Together let’s learn how to be kind to ourselves while we munch on some delicious conchas!

Join the Latino Living Center for an evening of CHISME surrounding traditions and customs, conversations and stories with our parents and grandparents, the tea with our tias and primos, the culture, music and more regarding growing up Latinx. Please regiter via Campus Groups:

September 30: Cornell's Farmworker Program

Join Cornell's Farmworker Program to learn more about the program's work, summer opportunities, research, educational outreach, & more. Register via Campus groups:

Apple Picking sign up will be in-person on first-come-first served basis for those who attend the cafe.

October 14: Connecting With Our Roots

Come join Las Hermanas of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. in learning about how our ancestors connected with nature for healing and wellbeing. We will be painting plant pots and providing succulents for y'all to take home! Snacks and drinks will also be provided there We hope to see you there! Register via campus groups:

October 28: Día de los Muertos Special

Join us to collaboratively help set-up our annual ofrenda followed by community pumpkin carving on Friday, October 28 starting at 6:30pm at the LLC Main Lounge! Make sure to register if you'd like a pumpkin to carve afterward!  Please registser via Campus Groups:

November 4: Learn about research at Cornell

For our Café Con Leche Series this FRIDAY, we will be joined by a guest speaker, Carolina Osorio Gil who is a current LLC Fellow and PhD student in the department of Global Development. She invites this to be more of a dialogue than a presentation and looks forward to meeting you all. Register via Campus Groups:

November 11: Day Hall Takeover

Join us to create posters for the upcoming march & learn about the history of the Day Hall Takeover! Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Join us in a honest conversation about the popularity of Latinx culture in the media from the appropriation of "trendy" traditions/culture to the gentrification of Latinx neighborhoods across the US.  Campus Groups link:

December 2: Gingerbread Houses

Join Las Hermanas of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. for a fun and cozy evening. We will be making gingerbread houses at the LLC and getting into the holiday spirit!  We hope to see you there!
