#sustainability earth dayHave broken or unwanted electronics lying around? Swing by the Earth Day Repair Fair on Wednesday, April 22 from 4 to 6 pm in the Gates Hall lobby! We can help you fix your devices, or take them off your hands and give them a second life for a good cause. And stick around to see some insightful student work on the environmental impacts of computing!
This event is brought to you by Bowers, the Cornell Computer Reuse Association (CCRA), the Campus Sustainability Office, the Sustainable Computing Working Group, and R5 Operations, in partnership with Ithaca ReUse. On Earth Day, we will be holding an electronics repair fair in the Gates Hall lobby. We will set up tables where volunteers — and repair experts from Ithaca ReUse — will provide advice to attendees on any tech issues they might be facing on their devices, and conduct simple repairs. We will accept donations of unwanted electronics at the tables as well as through an e-waste bin placed outside the building. Students from INFO 4260: Computing on Earth will also be in attendance to showcase relevant research on the impacts of computing and e-waste. Stop by for an interesting, informative, and hopefully helpful event!
