Beginning Farmer Discussion Series: Soil Prep and Field Management

Get ready for the 2023 growing season! Join Madison CCE for our new monthly farmer discussion group (aimed at farmers in their first ten years of growing, but totally open to all!!). 

We'll kick off the first half of each session with a presentation on a seasonal topic (or challenge!) and follow up with plenty of time for questions, talking, and sharing experiences of the ups and downs of food production in CNY.

In March, we get ready to tune up our tractors and get into the fields, with an overview of soil preparation and field work aimed at newer farmers. We’ll cover some of the standard options of prepping your soil, and how to manage land around intense weather and our short seasons (and sometimes wet ground), and have time for lots of questions about all things soil and the equipment to work with it.
