Texas native Baseera Khan (M.F.A. '12), recently completed the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture program. Khan's work takes an interest in the aesthetics of expanded documentation and the act of transcription — often translated through her use of various modes of storytelling. Khan has worked in various curatorial capacities at Rotunda Gallery and BRIC | Arts | Media | Brooklyn. She is currently a curatorial researcher for Participant Inc. Khan lives and works in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. In her artist talk, "Skowhegan Sketches," she will discuss her recent work and practice.
